Command Master Chief - Gold Leadership

Master Chief Lee M. Wright was raised in Canton, Ohio. He enlisted in the United States Navy as an undesignated deck seaman and entered Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, IL in October 1989.
His first sea duty tour was as a member of Deck Division and Navigation Division onboard USS CROMMELIN (FFG 37) from 1990 to 1994. While serving in CROMMELIN, Master Chief Wright completed two Counter Narcotics Law Enforcement deployments to the Pacific Ocean and Gulf of Mexico. Master Chief Wright then reported to Navy Recruiting District Columbus, Ohio where he served as a production recruiter.
His next sea duty tour was in PCU ROSS and USS ROSS (DDG 71) as Leading Petty Officer of Navigation Division from 1997 to 2001. Following commissioning, he deployed to the Mediterranean assigned to the THEODORE ROOSEVELT Strike Group in support of OPERATION NOBLE ANVIL and participated in BALTOPS 2000. He then reported to Navy Recruiting District Dallas, TX where he was recognized as Classifier of the Year for Navy Recruiting Command in 2003.
Master Chief Wright subsequently served on the staff of Commander, US Naval Forces Central Command from 2004 to 2005 where he was LCPO of the N31 Scheduling Shop and the 5th Fleet Watch Floor where he received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Touro University International.
His third sea duty tour was onboard USS SHILOH (CG 67) as Navigation Division LCPO where he participated in Ballistic Missile Defense testing and hull swap with USS CHANCELLORSVILLE (CG 62) where he served as Executive Department LCPO until his transfer in March, 2008.
His next shore tour was Department LCPO of Port Operations Department onboard Naval Amphibious Base Little Creek, VA where he was selected for the Command Senior Chief Program.
Master Chief Wright reported to USS FREEDOM Gold in June 2010. He has been awarded the Navy Commendation Medal with 3 gold stars, the Navy Achievement Medal with one silver star, and various unit and campaign awards.
