Commanding Officer - Gold Leadership (Relieved July 2012)

CDR Weber was raised in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. He attended the United States Naval Academy where he graduated and received his commission in 1993.

His first tour of duty was aboard USS RODNEY M. DAVIS (FFG-60), where he served as the Anti-Submarine Warfare Officer and later, the Ordnance Officer. While onboard, CDR Weber deployed to the Middle East twice and participated in Operation VIGILANT WARRIOR in 1994. In December 1996, CDR Weber reported to the USS FIFE (DD-991) where he served as the Navigator/Administration Officer. Both ships were homeported in Yokosuka, Japan.

In 1998, CDR Weber left active duty and worked for Schneider National, Inc. in Green Bay, WI as a Maintenance Team Leader responsible for the repair of tractors and trailers. He became a drilling reservist in Amphibious Construction Battalion ONE det 316 in January 2001 and then returned to active duty in April, 2001.

In December 2001, CDR Weber reported to USS REUBEN JAMES (FFG-57) and served as the Combat Systems Officer. During his tour, CDR Weber deployed to the Middle East in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM and Operation IRAQI FREEDOM I. He transferred in August 2003 to COMMANDER, DESTROYER SQUADRON SIX staff out of Pascagoula, MS, as the Combat Systems and Communications Officer (N6). In June 2005, CDR Weber was selected to attend the Army Command and General Staff College (CGSC) where he completed Joint Professional Military Education Phase I (JPME I). CDR Weber’s tour ashore was as a Maritime Planner for U.S. Northern Command (J-5) in Colorado Springs, CO where he also earned a Master’s in Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix.

In August 2009, CDR Weber reported to USS FREEDOM (LCS-1) as the Executive Officer. During his time as Executive Officer, USS FREEDOM completed its first operational deployment to Central and South America where it participated in Counter Illicit Trafficking operations before arriving in its homeport of San Diego, CA. CDR Weber assumed command of USS FREEDOM (LCS 1) GOLD crew per the XO/CO fleet up program on February 11, 2011.

CDR Weber’s awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal; Navy Commendation Medal; Navy Achievement Medal and various unit and service awards.
