Command Master Chief (November 2012 - January 2015)

Master Chief Torres is a native of Panama City Florida, enlisted in the United States Navy in May 1992, and completed basic training at Recruit Training Command, Orlando, Florida. He reported to Corry Station Pensacola for Electronic Warfare “A” and “C” schools, where he graduated as an AN/SLQ-32A(V)3 Technician and was promoted to Petty Officer Third Class.

His command tours include USS LEYTE GULF (CG-55) 1993-1998, USS CARNEY (DDG-64) 1998-2000, Afloat Training Group Pacific 2000-2003, USS CAPE ST GEORGE (CG-71) 2003-2006, Joint Functional Component Command for Integrated Missile Defense 2006-2009, Commander Carrier Strike Group Nine 2009-2012, USS INGRAHAM (FFG-61) 2012-2014.

Master Chief Torres is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy Class 169 and has earned his Information Dominance, Surface Warfare, Enlisted Aviation, Master Training Specialist, and Afloat Training Specialist designations.

His decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2 awards), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4 awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
