Master Chief Petty Officer Tracy L. Hunt is assigned to the USS Rodney M. Davis (FFG 60) as the Command Master Chief home-ported at Everett, Washington. Master Chief Hunt, a native of Meherrin, Virginia, enlisted in the United States Navy in 1989. Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois he completed Seaman Apprentice Training in December 1989.
Upon graduation, he reported for duty with USS AVENGER (MCM 1) home-ported in Charleston, South Carolina. His follow-on tours include Shore Intermediate Maintenance Activity (SIMA), Mobile, Alabama and Pascagoula, Mississippi; USS JOHN F. KENNEDY (CV 67) homeport in Mayport, Florida; Naval Reserve Recruiting Command Area Northeast, Washington DC; Navy Cargo Handling Battalion One, Cheatham Annex/Naval Weapons Station Yorktown, Virginia; Maritime Expeditionary Boat Detachment Four Two Two, Annapolis, Maryland.
After Master Chief Hunt’s selection to the Command Senior Chief Program he attended the CMC/COB Capstone Course (Class 57) and the Senior Enlisted Academy, Newport, Rhode Island (Class 145).
Master Chief Hunt’s decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (one gold star); Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (one silver star); Army Achievement Medal; Combat Action Ribbon; Good Conduct Medal (four bronze stars); and various service and campaign awards. Master Chief Hunt has earned the Enlisted Surface Warfare Insignia, Enlisted Expeditionary Warfare Insignia and Enlisted Aviation Warfare Insignia.
