Everett, WA (April 9, 2011) - The guided-missile frigate USS Ford (FFG 54) departed Naval Station Everett for a deployment to the Western Pacific.
Ford and her crew will participate in multi-national exercises, patrols and training missions. Ford is part of an on-going rotation of forward-deployed forces to support maritime security operations.
Ford has completed regular ship maintenance and training in preparation for the deployment that will include strengthening international partnerships across a range of operations. Ford's mission during the deployment will directly support the Navy's Maritime Strategy by providing forward presence, deterrence, maritime security, and humanitarian assistance and disaster response wherever necessary.
