USS GARY honors the 70th Anniversary of the Battle of Midway 
San Diego, CALIF. – The Battle of Midway is regarded as one of the most important Naval battles of the WWII Pacific campaign. In honor of one of the greatest U.S. Naval victories in US History, the crew of the USS GARY (FFG-51) gathered together to discuss the importance and enjoyed some cake to celebrate the significance and also to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for a victory at Midway. Early the following morning at the break of dawn, the crew held a sunrise ceremony and laid a wreath in the coastal waters of San Diego to remember the success and sacrifices of the sailors present at Midway from June 4-7th, 1942.
