USS GARY (FFG 51) 
USS Gary conducts Joint Exercises with French Frigate Prairial

San Diego, CALIF. – June 4, 2012 – In preparation for RIMPAC 2012, and in a cooperative diplomatic gesture, the crew of USS GARY (FFG-51) conducted communications and maneuvering exercises as well as a passenger exchange with the French Frigate Prairial (F-731) on Monday. The exercises included flag hoist drills, communications decoding drills, and high speed maneuvers. Six crew members from both ships were selected to visit the other’s ship to see how each nation’s respective Navy operates. It was a unique opportunity for the crews of both USS GARY and the Prairial to practice drills they only seldom have the opportunity to do.
