Command Master Chief

Master Chief Petty Officer Williams is a native of Birmingham, AL.  He graduated from John Herbert Phillips High School in 1993 and enlisted in the United States Navy December 1994.  Following Basic Training in Great Lakes, IL, he attended JOB Strand IV in Millington, TN then Electronic Warfare “A” School in Pensacola, FL.

Upon graduation from EW “A” School, he reported for duty to the USS OLIVER HAZARD PERRY (FFG 7) in Mayport, FL in December 1995.  While stationed there he completed a Great Lakes Cruise and decommissioned her February 1997.  He then transferred to the USS JOHN F. KENNEDY (CV 67) completing one Mediterranean Sea deployment; an Arabian Gulf deployment and earned his Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist and Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist designations.

Ashore, Master Chief Williams was stationed at NTTC Corry Station Pensacola, FL from August 2000 to May 2003.  He served as an Instructor for EW’A” School and also was the first EW to teach Entry Level ELINT CTT “A” school helping with the facilitation of EW/CTT merger and qualifying as a Master Training Specialist.

In May 2003 he returned to sea and was assigned to USS BLUE RIDGE (LCC 19) where he was the acting LCPO for OT division.  During his tour he was selected as Sailor of the Year in 2004.  He also was advanced to the rank of Chief Petty Officer in September 2005.

In March 2006, he reported to Center for Information Dominance Learning Site, Yokosuka, Japan where he served as Chief Petty Officer in-charge.  He also served as Afloat Assessor for ATGWESTPAC earning his Afloat Training Specialist.

In June of 2009, he was advanced to Senior Chief Petty Officer and reported to the USS O’KANE were he assumed the duties as the Leading Cryptologic Technical Technician and Operations Department Leading Chief Petty Officer.  Additionally he served as the Senior Enlisted Leader from May to July 2011.

In January of 2013, he reported aboard the USS RENTZ as the Command Senior Chief. In May 2013 he was advanced to Master Chief Petty Officer.

Master Chief Williams is a graduate of Navy Senior Enlisted Academy class 170, Command leadership course class 070; he also has a Bachelors of Science, Degree in Liberal Arts and Associate of Science, Degree in Applied Science from Excelsior College.

His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
