Thach Supports Southern Seas 2011 
Thach is deployed to South America in support of Southern Seas 2011. 
 
LAGO RANCO, Chile (June 12, 2011) - Information Systems Technician 1st Class (SW/AW) Carlos Ortiz assigned to guided-missile frigate USS Boone (FFG 28) talks to Chilean Red Cross workers at a shelter in Lago Ranco, Chile, for evacuees of a volcanic eruption of Mount Puyehue. Sailors of Boone and USS Thach (FFG 43) delivered Project Handclasp and Loving Hugs donations to the shelter during a port visit in Talcahuano.
