Master Chief (SW/AW) Donald L. Davis Jr. is native of San Diego, CA, and raised in Houston, Texas. He enlisted in the Navy in September, 1988, and attended recruit training at Recruit Training Command, San Diego, CA.
His sea tours included: USS Midway (CV 41), USS Independence (CV 62), USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72), USS Peleliu (LHA 5) and USS Lassen (DDG 82).
His shore assignments included: Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka, Japan and Navy Recruiting District Houston.
Master Chief Davis is a graduate of the Aviation Ordnancemen Officer Career Progression (AOOCP), Senior Enlisted Academy class 146 Khaki Group and CMC/COB Command Leadership Course class 63.
Master Chief had the honor of service as the Command Master Chief of USS Lassen (DDG 82), USS Tortuga (LSD 46), Amphibious Force SEVENTH Fleet and currently serving as the Command Master Chief of Expeditionary Strike Group THREE.
Master Chief Davis’ military decorations include Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4 awards), Navy Achievement Medal (5 awards) and various unit and campaign awards.
