Master Chief Petty Officer Jose Caballero is native of Guerrero Mexico, after immigrating to the United States he lived in San Jose, California and joined the United States Navy on November 20, 1984. He completed basic training at Recruit Training Command, Orlando, Florida.

Master Chief Petty Officer Caballero’s duty assignments include: USS CARL VINSON (CVN-70) NAS Alameda, CA; USS SHASTA (AE-33) NAS Alameda, CA; Assault Craft Unit 5, Camp Pendleton, CA; Navy Recruiting District San Diego, CA; USS REUBEN JAMES (FFG-53) Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; USS CROMMELIN (FFG-37) Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; Navy Recruiting District San Francisco Mountain View, CA; Senior Enlisted Academy Rhode Island, MD; USS JOHN PAUL JONES (DDG-53) San Diego, CA.

Master Chief Petty Officer Caballero’s is a graduate of the CMC/COB class 72 and He earned a Bachelors degree in business administration June 2007 from Columbia Southern University. He has completed nine major deployments in support of Operation Desert Shield/Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He reported to his current assignment as Command Master Chief, USS HALSEY (DDG-97), in March 2010.

Master Chief Petty Officer Caballero is authorized to wear Navy and Marine Corp Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement medal (seven awards) and several other unit and service decorations.
