Command Master Chief
Command Master Chief Detje was raised in Danbury, CT and enlisted in the Navy on 05 Sept 89. He completed Recruit Training in Orlando, Fl and Electronics Technician A School in Great Lakes.
His sea tours include: USS Oldendorf (DD-972), USS O'Bannon (DD-987) and USS Gettysburg (CG-64). Master Chief Detje’s shore assignments include: Training Support Center, Great Lakes, IL as a Student Division Commander, Navy Personnel Command, Millington, TN as the Sea Special Programs detailer and ACLANT CLD.
Master Chief Detje was selected to the Command Master Chief program and reported to USS CHUNG HOON (DDG-93) in April 2011.
Master Chief Detje is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 139/Blue) and the Command Master Chief Course, Newport, RI. His personal awards include the Joint Defense Meritorious Service Ribbon, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five awards), the Joint Service Achievement Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards) and various unit and campaign awards”
