Command Master Chief
Master Chief Petty Officer Adam C. Longsdorf is a native of Pittsburgh, PA. He graduated from North Hills High School in 1998 and immediately entered recruit training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, IL.
His military education courses include Gunner’s Mate “A” School, MK26 Technician “C” School, Small Arms Marksmanship Instructor, the Marine Corps School of Infantry, basic and advanced Riverine Force Small Craft Maritime Interdiction Operations, Recruit Division Commander, the Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 167/Purple) and the CMC/COB course in Newport, RI. CMDCM Longsdorf holds a Bachelors’ Degree from Roger Williams University in Technology Leadership and Management.
Prior to his current assignment as the Command Master Chief of the USS MOMSEN (DDG-92), his command assignments include Command Master Chief of Mine Countermeasure (MCM) Crew PERSISTENT and Command Senior Chief of MCM Crew LEADER. Other assignments include the Naval Academy Preparatory School, Riverine Squadron One, SERMC Pascagoula, NAS Iceland, and the USS YORKTOWN (CG-48).
CMDCM Longsdorf has deployed in support of Counter Drug Operations, Fifth Fleet Operations, United States/South American Allied Training, and has completed two combat tours in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Al Anbar Province, Iraq.
He is qualified to wear the Surface Warfare Specialist insignia, the Expeditionary Warfare Specialist insignia, the Fleet Marine Force Warfare insignia, and the Small Craft insignia. His personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal (four awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (five awards) and various other personal, unit, and campaign medals and awards.
