CMDCM Mark Swab
Command Master Chief (December 2009 - November 2012)

Master Chief Swab is a native of Tacoma, Washington.  He graduated from Bethel High School Graham, Washington in 1982 and started his naval career at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Illinois in March 1983.

After completing Operation Specialist "A" School in August 1983, he reported for his initial sea tour aboard USS ARKANSAS (CGN 41).  Subsequent sea tours include USS TUSCALOOSA (LST 1187), Staff of Commander Amphibious Squadron Three, USS NEW ORLEANS (LPH 11), USS NIMITZ (CVN 68), USS MOUNT HOOD (AE 29), and USS BENFOLD (DDG 65) as Command Master Chief. 

Master Chief Swab’s shore commands included Naval Recruiting District Seattle where he was assigned to Naval Recruiting Station Puyallup.  Subsequent shore assignments include Commander Naval Forces Europe Joint Mobile Ashore Satellite Terminal Sigonella, Sicily, Commander Naval Surface Group Pacific Northwest and Commander Task Force 33, and Commander Naval Forces Europe and Commander Sixth Fleet Naples, Italy.

He is currently assigned to USS MOMSEN (DDG 92) as Command Master Chief.

Master Chief Swab’s decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (Five awards), Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards), and various service, unit, and deployment awards.
