|CDR Ryan J. Blazevich
Native of St. Louis, Missouri, CDR Blazevich graduated from Northwestern University in 1995 with a BA in Economics and International Studies, minor in Business Administration.
CDR Blazevich received his commission through Officer Candidate School, in Pensacola Florida on November 21, 1997.
CDR Blazevich has completed sea tours aboard USS UNDERWOOD (FFG 36) as Electrical Officer from 1998-2000, USS STETHEM (DDG 63) as Combat Information Center Officer from 2000-2002, individual augmentation aboard USS JOHN C. STENNIS (CVN 74) as Carrier Strike Group SEVEN (CSG 7) Assistant Joint Interface Control Officer in 2001-2002, USS LASSEN (DDG 82) as Weapons Officer/Combat Systems Officer from 2005 to 2008, and embarked USS RONALD REAGAN (CVN 76) as CCSG 7 Flag Secretary from 2008-2010.
On shore duty, CDR Blazevich completed a Master’s degree in Information Technology Management at the Naval Postgraduate School from 2002-2004, and was assigned to the staff of the Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV N80) from 2010 to 2012 as a Resource Requirements Review Board and Strategic Fiscal Communications analyst. While assigned to OPNAV, he additionally completed a 339 day BOG individual augmentation to Afghanistan as the International Military Education and Training (IMET) Chief for NATO Training Mission-Afghanistan, Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan, Security Assistance Office from 2011 to 2012.
CDR Blazevich’s awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (second award), Navy Commendation Medal (second award), Navy Achievement Medal (third award), and multiple unit and campaign medals.
