Commander Chase Patrick is a proud product of the great state of Virginia. A 1994 graduate of the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia,he earned his naval commission through the Naval ROTC program at UVA. He was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in Foreign Affairs.

Commander Patrick reported to USS LAKE ERIE (CG 70) in May 1995 as Electrical Officer, and in July 1997 he reported to his second sea tour as Auxiliaries Officer in USS CROMMELIN (FFG 37). After completion of Department Head School at Surface Warfare Officers School (SWOS) in Newport, Rhode Island, he reported in September 2001 to USS PAUL HAMILTON (DDG 60) as the Engineer Officer. In April 2003, he reported to USS PORT ROYAL (CG 73) for his second tour as Engineer Officer.

Commander Patrick most recently completed a two year tour as Executive Officer in USS CHUNG-HOON (DDG 93) All five ships were homeported in historic Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

In September 2001 Commander Patrick earned a Master of Science degree in Operations Research from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California.

In September 2004 he reported to the Bureau of Naval Personnel (BUPERS) in Millington, Tennessee, where he executed his assigned duties as Sea Coordinator for the Surface Warfare Junior Officer Assignments branch of PERS-41.

In June 2007 he earned a Master of Military Studies degree from Marine Corps University, Command and Staff College, in Quantico, Virginia.

His personal awards include five Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, three Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, and various campaign and unit awards.

PEARL HARBOR (NNS) -- A guest aboard USS Chafee (DDG 90) stood on the starboard side of the ship during a scheduled family cruise March 12 watching intently as the ship passed the USS Arizona Memorial and "Battleship Row" on its way out of Pearl Harbor.

USS CHAFEE (DDG 90) visits Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia
KOTA KINABALU, Malaysia – Sailors on the guided-missile destroyer USS Chafee (DDG 90) pulled into the beautiful city of Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia for a four-day port visit on May 31 to June 3. The purpose of this visit was to build upon the friendly relations that the United States and Royal Malaysian Navies share.

PACIFIC OCEAN - Surface Navy and other combatant units took part in an integrated training environment called Koa Kai 11-2 in waters surrounding the Hawaiian Islands March 31 to April 5.
