CDR Anthony Littmann
Commanding Officer

CDR Littmann is native of Staten Island, New York and was raised in New Jersey. He was awarded an NROTC scholarship to attend Texas A&M University where he graduated and received his commission in 1996.

CDR Littmann’s first sea tour was aboard USS TICONDEROGA (CG 47) where he served as Anti-Submarine Warfare Officer. His second division officer tour was aboard USS THORN (DD 988) where he served as Auxiliaries Officer.

Returning to sea as a department head, CDR Littmann served as Weapons Officer, and later as Combat Systems Officer, aboard USS BARRY (DDG 52). While serving onboard, the BARRY was awarded the Arleigh Burke Fleet Trophy for being the most improved ship in the Atlantic Fleet. Following his tours on board USS BARRY, he assumed duties as Combat Systems Officer on Pre-Commissioning Unit FORREST SHERMAN (DDG 98) in Pascagoula, MS. While serving on the FORREST SHERMAN, CDR Littmann oversaw the ship through completion of construction, outfitting, training, commissioning, and certification.

While ashore, CDR Littmann served at United States Strategic Command in Omaha, NE where he worked in both the Capabilities and Resource Integration Directorate (J8) and the Global Operations Directorate (J3). CDR Littmann served as the Director for Trainers and Simulation at the Surface Warfare Officers School in Newport, RI.

CDR Littmann holds a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology (1996), a Master of Science in Information Systems and Operations (2002), and a Master of Business Administration (2009).

CDR Littmann’s personal decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (three awards), Joint Service Achievement Medal, and the Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards). CDR Littmann was awarded as the Naval Surface Forces Tactician of the Year Award for 2004 for Destroyer Squadron 26.
