CDR Jill Cesari
Executive Officer (April 2011 - December 2012)

CDR Cesari is a graduate of Winston Churchill High School in Potomac, Maryland. In 1992 she reported to the United States Naval Academy and graduated in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science degree.

Her first tour was aboard USS DECATUR (DDG 73). She was a part of the commissioning crew and served as Ordnance Officer. In September 1999, CDR Cesari reported to USS CORONADO (AGF 11) where she served as Combat Information Center Officer and Assistant Operations Officer.

In June 2001, CDR Cesari became a member of the Leadership, Education and Development Program (LEAD) in Annapolis, Maryland and earned a Master of Science degree in Leadership and Human Resource Development, awarded by the Naval Postgraduate School. In June 2002, she became the Fourth Company Officer at the United States Naval Academy where she also taught naval leadership to first and third year midshipmen.

CDR Cesari reported to USS ROBERT G BRADLEY (FFG 49) in August 2004, and served as Operations Officer. In April 2005, ROBERT G BRADLEY deployed to the Western Caribbean and Eastern Pacific for counter-narcotics operations. In March 2006, she reported to USS CAPE ST GEORGE (CG 71) while the ship was deployed to the Horn of Africa for counter-piracy operations. She served as Operations Officer and assisted in planning the ship’s homeport shift from Norfolk, Virginia to San Diego, California.

In July 2007, CDR Cesari reported to Commander, U.S. SEVENTH Fleet, embarked aboard USS BLUE RIDGE (LCC 19), and served as Flag Secretary. During her tour she had the privilege of traveling to twelve Pacific Rim nations and participated in five joint and combined exercises.

She reported to the Naval War College in August 2009. She earned a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies and completed her Joint Professional Military Education (JPME II). In April 2011 she reported to USS SHOUP (DDG 86) and is serving as Executive Officer.

CDR Cesari’s awards include Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal and various unit and service awards.
