SAN DIEGO, CA – Boatswain’s Mate First Class Jess Hill shows students from Good Shepherd Catholic School various pieces of flight deck equipment.  USS HOWARD (DDG 83) hosted 35 eighth grade students from Good Shepherd Catholic School for a tour.  Ms. Darlene Howard, daughter of First Sergeant Jimmie E. Howard, the ship’s namesake, is a teacher of the class who toured.  While onboard, they visited different parts of the ship including the pilot house and the combat information center.  HOWARD is homeported in San Diego and a member of the Ronald Regan Strike Group.
