UNDERWAY – Chief Boatswains Mate Conrad Mathis and Boatswain’s Mate First Class Stephen Philips watch as the guided-missile destroyer USS HOWARD (DDG 83) makes her approach on the supply ship USNS YUKON (T-AO-202) during a routine underway replenishment at sea. 

Chief Mathis and Petty Officer Philips are Safety Officers during routine deck evolutions onboard HOWARD.  USS HOWARD (DDG 83) is currently underway during a routine deployment throughout 5th and 7th Fleets.  She is homeported in San Diego, CA and a member of Destroyer Squadron Seven.
