UNDERWAY – USS HOWARD (DDG 83) provides naval surface gun fire support as a participant in exercise, Iron Fist, led by Commander, Amphibious Squadron Five.  Iron Fist is an amphibious landing and ground assault exercise operating in conjunction with Commander, Amphibious Squadron Five, the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit and the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force.  (Photo taken by LT j.g.
