Master Chief Raymond LaCarlos Brady is a resident of Lake City, Florida and began his naval career in basic training at Fleet Training Center, Orlando, FL on 5 July 1990. After completing basic training, he completed Apprenticeship training and would later complete YN 'A' school after serving onboard his first command.
His sea duty assignments include the USS SAVANNAH (AOR 4), USS L.Y. SPEAR (AS 36), Commander, Carrier Air Wing EIGHT embarked onboard USS JOHN F. KENNEDY (CVN 67) and USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT (CVN 71) and USS KAUFFMAN (FFG 59). He served as Command Master Chief of MCM CREW FEARLESS embarked onboard USS PIONEER (MCM 9) and USS ARDENT (MCM 12). He reported onboard USS HOWARD (DDG 83) as Command Master Chief in June 2011.
Master Chief Brady's shore duty assignments include Commander, Amphibious Group TWO, Fleet Technical Support Center, Atlantic, and U.S. Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station, Far East.
He has earned the Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist (ESWS) and Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist (EAWS).
Master Chief Brady has an Associates Degree from Coastline Community College, and a Bachelor of Administration with a major in Human Resources from the University of Management and Technology.
Master Chief Brady was selected to the Command Senior Chief program in 2009 and is a graduate of both the Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 147/Blue Group), and Command Master Chief Course.
He has received the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (6), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4), Good Conduct Medals (6), and numerous other awards and decorations.
