|CDR Andree (Ande) Bergmann
Commanding Officer (March 2011 - September 2012)
Commander Andree (Ande) Bergmann is a native of Moraga, California though she calls Los Ranchos, New Mexico home. She was commissioned through Officer Candidate School in 1995.
During her initial sea tour in USS BOXER (LDH 4) Commander Bergmann served as the Assault Division officer from February 1996 to May of 1998. Her follow on Division Officer tour was in USS OLDENDORF (DD 972) where she was assigned as the Combat Information Center Officer from May 1998 to December 1999. Commander Bergmann’s Department Head tours were on USS BENFOLD (DDG 65), USS HIGGINS (DDG 76) and USS JOHN PAUL JONES (DDG 53) where she served as Weapons Officer and fleeted up to Combat Systems Officer. She has made three deployments to the FIFTH FLEET AOR and one deployment in support of SEVENTH FLEET operations. CDR Bergmann served as Executive Officer for the USS Howard (DDG 83) and now Commanding Officer.
Ashore, Commander Bergmann served at COMMANDER NAVAL SURFACE FORCES as the Current Operations Officer from January 2000 to May of 2002. After completing her Department Head tours she was assigned to OPNAV in the Director Navy Staff’s Executive Decision Management Office (EDMO) from January 2005 to September 2008. She also has completed an Individual Agumentee tour where she was assigned to USEUCOM in the Commanders Interagency Group (CIEG) from October 2008 to April 2009.
Commander Bergmann attended California State University, Chico earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education. She earned a Masters in Education from University of Phoenix.
In addition to numerous service medals, Commander Bergmann’s personal decorations include the Navy-Marine Corps Commendation Medal with two gold stars the Joint Service Achievement Medal and the Navy Achievement Medal with two gold stars.
