Master Chief (SW/AW) Donald L. Davis Jr. was born in San Diego, CA, and raised in Houston, Texas. He enlisted in the Navy in September, 1989, and attended recruit training at Recruit Training Command, San Diego, CA.
His sea tours included: USS MIDWAY (CV-41), USS INDEPENCENCE (CV-62), USS ABRHAM LINCOLN (CVN-72) and USS PELELIU (LHA-5).
His shore assignments included: Commander of Fleet Activities Yokosuka, Japan, and Navy Recruiting District Houston.
Master Chief Davis is a graduate of the Aviation Ordnancemen Officer Career Progression (AOOCP), Senior Enlisted Academy class 146 khaki group and CMC/COB Command Leadership Course class 63.
Master Chief Davis’s military decorations include Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with two Gold Star, Navy Achievement Medal with four Gold Stars, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Navy Unit Commendation, Meritorious Unit Commendation three Bronze Stars, Navy “E” Ribbon two Awards, Good Conduct Medal with four Bronze Stars and various campaign awards.
