100518-N-6148C-592 GULF OF THAILAND (May 18, 2010) The guided-missile destroyer USS Lassen (DDG 82) leads a formation of U.S. and Royal Thai Navy ships during Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) Thailand 2010. Ships in the formation include the guided-missile frigate USS Vandegrift (FFG 48) and the Royal Thai Navy frigate HTMS Taksin (FFG 422). CARAT is a series of bilateral exercises held annually in Southeast Asia to strengthen relationships and enhance force readiness (U.S. Navy photo by Matt Cullen/Released)
