Command Master Chief (July 2009 - August 2011)

Master Chief Petty Officer Hall is a native of Indianapolis, IN. He graduated from Emmerich Manual High School in 1985 and enlisted in the United States Navy. Following Basic Training, he attended OS "A" School in Damneck, Va.

Upon graduation from OS “A” School, he reported for duty to USS LEAHY (CG 16) in San Diego, Ca. as Track Supervisor. In 1988, he transferred to Commander, Cruiser Destroyer Group THREE, San Diego Ca, where he performed duties as a Flag Data Display System Operator (FDDS) for the Tactical Flag Command Center (TFCC) watch.

Ashore, Master Chief Hall was stationed at Naval Leader Training Unit (NLTU) Coronado from March 1993 to March 1996. He served as the Course Curriculum Manager for the Naval Leadership Course. He earned his Master Training Specialist designation and was the 1994 Instructor of the Year.


In 1996, he returned to the fleet assigned as an Air Interceptor Controller for Commander Carrier Air Wing ELEVEN where he was named Sailor of the Year. He Master Chief Hall completed two deployments to the Western Pacific and participated in OPERATION DESERT FOX.


In May 2000, he reported to Naval Ambulatory Care Center, Port Hueneme, Ca, serving as the Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Program (SARP) Division Officer and Senior Counselor.


In 2003, he graduated from the U.S. Air Force Senior Enlisted Academy with the distinguished Bobby G. Renfroe Leadership Award as top graduate in the class. His follow-on tour was onboard USS MOBILE BAY (CG 53) as the Operations Department Leading Chief Petty Officer, Command Duty Officer (CDO), Tactical Action Officer (TAO), Command Senior Enlisted Watchbill Coordinator, and Command Mentorship Coordinator from September 2003 to February 2007. He made two deployments in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM and IRAQI FREEDOM.


Master Chief Hall served as the Senior Enlisted Leader of the largest Directorate at the Fleet Command Center. In July 2009, he transferred and assumed the duties as the Command Master Chief of the USS O’KANE (DDG 77).


Master Chief Hall has an Associate of Science degree in Counseling and Applied Psychology from Coastline Community College.


His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (seven awards), and various units citations. Additionally, he is authorized to wear the Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist (ESWS) and Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist (EAWS) designations.
