CDR Colby Sherwood
Executive Officer

Originally from Cheboygan, Michigan, CDR Sherwood graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1998 with a degree in Ocean Engineering. He also holds a Master's Degree in Engineering Management from Old Dominion University.

CDR Sherwood served at sea as Anti-Submarine Warfare Officer in USS JOHN S. McCAIN (DDG 56), Machinery Division Officer in USS CARL VINSON (CVN 70), Operations Officer in USS CARNEY (DDG 64), and both Main Propulsion Assistant and Reactor Training Assistant in USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN 73).

CDR Sherwood served ashore as an Action Officer for C/J-36 United States Forces Korea, Deputy Program Manager for both the Atmospheric Program – Afghanistan and the Expeditionary Cellular Communications Program as part of the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan, and as the Executive Officer for Nuclear Power Training Unit, Charleston.

CDR Sherwood’s awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy Commendation Medal (three awards), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, and multiple joint, unit, and campaign awards.
