Executive Officer (November 2011 - April 2013)

Commander James Juster is a native of Colts Neck, NJ. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1996 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, and received his commission through the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) program.
His first duty assignment was in USS LEWIS B. PULLER (FFG 23), where he served as First Lieutenant, Auxiliaries Officer and Main Propulsion Assistant. Subsequent sea duty assignments include tours as Auxiliaries Officer in USS ESSEX (LHD 2), Chief Engineer in USS BULKELEY (DDG 84) and Material/Logistics Officer in Amphibious Squadron Six / NASSAU Expeditionary Strike Group.

Ashore, CDR Juster earned Master of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering (MSME) and Mechanical Engineer degrees from the Naval Postgraduate School. He has served on the OPNAV N86 staff as Radar Requirements Officer and as Executive Assistant to Deputy Director, Combat Systems and Weapons (N86F). He was most recently assigned to the Missile Defense Agency, where he worked in the Maritime Integration (F) Group at the Aegis BMD Program Office.
His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (two awards) and Navy Achievement Medal (four awards).
