|LCDR Gina McCaine
LCDR Gina McCaine is a native of Rancho Cucamonga, California. She graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering.
Her first assignment was forward deployed in USS O’BRIEN (DD 975), homeported in Yokosuka, Japan, where she served Auxiliaries and Electrical Officer and deployed to the Arabian Gulf in 1998. Subsequent sea tours include Air Warfare and Training Officer in USS HUE CITY (CG 66), commissioning Chief Engineer in USS BAINBRIDGE (DDG 96), and Chief Engineer in USS PHILIPPINE SEA (CG 58) which deployed to the Arabian Gulf in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2006.
LCDR McCaine earned a Master of Science degree in Space Systems Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California and a Master of Arts degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island.
Ashore, she selected a Global War on Terrorism Support Assignment to Afghanistan in 2009 as the Provincial Reconstruction Team Engineer for the Nuristan Province. She was most recently assigned to NORAD USNORTHCOM at Peterson AFB and Cheyenne Mountain in Colorado Springs, Colorado where she served as Missile Defense Officer, and J31 Ballistic Missile Defense Current Operations Branch Chief during the April 2012 North Korean TD-2 launch.
LCDR McCaine’s awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), Army Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, and multiple joint, unit and campaign awards. She reported to USS O’KANE as Executive Officer in April 2013.
