CPO Mess

USS DECATUR Chief Petty Officers Mess consists of one Command Master Chief, two Senior Chiefs and 20 Chiefs who lead 300 Sailors. These Chief Petty Officers are USS DECATUR’s finest, being the technical experts and leaders, with an emphasis on "leadership" implementing good order and discipline on the deck-plate. Commander Ellingson’s Chiefs Mess take deep pride in developing and training today’s Sailor to become tomorrow’s leader. They routinely enforce the Commanding Officer’s policies and procedures that significantly contribute to ship’s mission, combat readiness and command climate.
