|CDR Garrett Miller
Commander Garrett Miller, a native of Daytona Beach, Florida, enlisted in the United States Navy as a Quartermaster in 1991 and was assigned to pre-commissioning crew USS SHILOH (CG 67). Selected for the Enlisted Commissioning Program in 1996, he attended San Diego State University and was commissioned in December of 1997.
Sea duty assignments include: Combat Systems Officer and Weapons Officer in USS LABOON (DDG 58), one of three ships in the first Atlantic Fleet Destroyer Sea Swap experiment; commissioning Fire Control Officer in USS McCAMPBELL (DDG 85); Gunnery Officer and Damage Control Assistant in USS MOOSBRUGGER (DD 980).
Ashore, Commander Miller completed a Joint tour at U.S. Central Command serving as the Secretary of the Joint Staff Director. Additionally, he served as Exercise Planner in U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command, U.S. Fourth Fleet.
Commander Miller holds a Master of Business Administration degree (Financial Management subspecialty) from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California.
Commander Miller’s personal awards include the Joint Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy Achievement Medal (four awards).
