CDR Jeffrey S. Tamulevich
Executive Officer

Commander Jeff Tamulevich is a native of Annapolis, Maryland. He is a 1999 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Oceanography.

His first assignment was as Ordnance Officer and First Lieutenant in USS GONZALEZ (DDG 66) where he deployed as part of Standing NATO Forces, Mediterranean. In 2002, he reported to Commander, Destroyer Squadron Two and served as the Assistant Combat Systems Officer. While assigned to COMDESRON Two, he deployed as embarked staff in USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM.

Following his first sea assignments, Commander Tamulevich reported to the U.S. Naval Academy in 2005 where he earned his Masters of Science in Human Resources and Leadership from the Naval Postgraduate School through the Leadership Education and Development (LEAD) Program. After successful completion of the LEAD Program, he served as the 16th Company Officer at USNA.

In August 2007, Commander Tamulevich reported to USS JOHN PAUL JONES (DDG 53) where he served as the Weapons Officer and the Combat Systems Officer. While there, he deployed with the NIMITZ Strike Group, conducted a western Pacific surge deployment, and completed an independent ballistic missile defense deployment to the Arabian Gulf.

Commander Tamulevich’s subsequent shore assignments include OPNAV N96 and the Joint Staff, Joint Operations Division, J35. He reported to N96 as the requirements officer for Manning and Training and also served as the Deputy Executive Assistant for the Chief of Naval Operations Director, Surface Warfare Division. While on the Joint Staff, Commander Tamulevich worked as the Operations Officer for Iraq, Syria, Jordan, and U.S. Central Command Maritime.

Commander Tamulevich is currently serving in USS HOPPER as Executive Officer.
