LCDR Jaja J. E. Marshall
Executive Officer

Lieutenant Commander Jaja J. E. Marshall is a native of Queens, New York. He is a 1997 graduate of the United States Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering.

For his first Division Officer tour, he reported to USS McClusky (FFG 41) in San Diego, California as Damage Control Assistant.

Lcdr. Marshall served on USS Princeton (CG 59) in San Diego as Combat Information Center Officer and Assistant Operations Officer for his second Division Officer tour.

In June 2003, he graduated from the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) in Monterey, California with an MBA in Financial Management.

Lcdr. Marshall was the Operations Officer in USS Stout (DDG 55) in Norfolk, Virginia for his first Department Head tour. While on Stout, he completed one phase of the Atlantic Fleet DDG Crew Swap with USS Gonzalez (DDG 66).

After completing his first Department Head tour, he reported to Commander Destroyer Squadron Fifteen as Operations Officer forward deployed in Yokosuka, Japan.

Subsequent to his Department Head tours, Lcdr. Marshall reported to Commander Naval Surface Forces and helped establish the Diversity Directorate. He has served as Flag Aide to Commander THIRD Fleet and to the Director, Navy Staff.

His most recent assignment was Contingency Operations and Ship Maintenance Budget Analyst in the Office of Budget, Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Financial Management & Comptroller.

He assumed duties as Executive Officer of USS Hopper (DDG 70) in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii in May 2013.
