CDR Michele Day attended Texas A&M University where she graduated and received her commission in 1996.
She has served at sea as 1st Lieutenant in USS BARRY (DDG 52), as Strike Officer and Network Operations officer in Destroyer Squadron 50, and as Weapons Officer and Combat Systems Officer in USS MOMSEN (DDG 92).
Her tours ashore include post-graduate studies at The Naval Postgraduate School; Instructor at the Navy Reserve Officer Training Corps, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill; Electronic Warfare Officer for the Army in Iraq; Action Officer for Joint Staff, J-1 Directorate Action Group; and as a post-Department Head Detailer (PERS-411) at Navy Personnel Command in Millington, TN.
CDR Day holds a Bachelor of Science in Bioenvironmental Science (1996) and a Master of Science in Information Systems and Operations (2004).
Her awards include the Bronze Star, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (six awards), Navy Achievement Medal, and various unit and service awards.
