Commander DeVore received his commission and a B.S. in Chemistry Education from Purdue University in 1995. He received Masters degrees from Georgetown University in 2002 and the Marine Corps Command and Staff College in 2006.
At-sea assignments include Anti-Submarine Warfare Officer in USS TAYLOR (FFG 50), Fire Control Officer in USS CARNEY (DDG 64), Operations Officer in USS MAHAN (DDG 72), Commanding Officer in Patrol Coastal Crew FOXTROT while embarked in USS TYPHOON (PC 5) and USS HURRICANE (PC 3), and as Executive Officer in USS STETHEM (DDG 63).
Shore-duty assignments include service as Assignments Officer in the Surface Distribution Division of the Bureau of Naval Personnel and Executive Assistant to the Director, Command, Control, Communications and Computer Systems Directorate (J6), U.S. Joint Forces Command, in Norfolk, Virginia. He also completed student tours under the Navy’s Pol-Mil Masters program at Georgetown University and at the Marine Corps Command and Staff College in Quantico, Virginia.
