Command Master Chief


Master Chief Guerin was born in Baton Rouge, La. He graduated Zachary High School in June 1987, and reported to Basic Training at Recruit Training Command, San Diego in December. After graduation, he went to Damage Control “A” school, Treasure Island, San Francisco, Ca. He reported to his first sea duty assignment onboard USS WORDEN (CG 18). During this tour, he earned his Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist pin.

His other assignments include: Naval Telecommunications Station, Diego Garcia, USS ESTOCIN (FFG 15) (USNR); USS VELLA GULF (CG 72), Shore Intermediate Maintenance Activity, USS TYPHOON (PC 5), Naval Personnel Command, Millington, TN, USS KITTY HAWK (CV 63) and USS NEW ORLEANS (LPD 18). In 2009, he was selected for the Command Senior Chief Program and was assigned to MCM CREW EXULTANT. 

 He completed tours as Command Senior Chief for USS DEXTROUS MCM 13 and USS WARRIOR MCM 10. In 2010, he was accepted into the Command Master Chief program and reported to Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron SEVEN ONE. After back to back deployments with USS JOHN C. STENNIS Battle Group, he reported for duty as Command Master Chief at COMMANDER, NAVAL BEACH GROUP ONE, Naval Amphibious Base Coronado, CA. After completing an FDNF tour with COMDESRON 50 in Manama, Bahrain he was assigned to CNRSW TPU.

Master Chief Guerin was then transferred early to take over duties as the Command Master Chief position on USS FITZGERALD DDG62. Master Chief Guerin has an AA degree from Excelsior College and is a graduate of the United States Air Force’s Senior Non-Commission Officer Academy. His personal awards include Navy Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Navy 'E' Ribbon, Navy Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, GWOT Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Navy and Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon, Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia), Kuwait Liberation Medal (Government of Kuwait), and various service and campaign awards.
