|CDR Sean Babbitt
Commander Babbitt is a native of St. Charles, Missouri and a 1999 graduate of Alma College in Alma Michigan. He was commissioned through Officer Candidate School in January 2000.
Commander Babbitt’s sea tours include Anti-Submarine Warfare officer in USS Wadsworth (FFG 9) and Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection officer in USS Oscar Austin (DDG 79). He served in USS Cape St. George (CG 71) as the Weapons Officer and Combat Systems Officer as well as the Air Defense Liaison Officer embarked in USS Abraham Lincoln and Carrier Strike Group Nine. He served as the Surface Strike Officer in Carrier Strike Group Fifteen coordinating all surface ship integrated and advanced at sea training. Most recently he served as the Executive Officer of PCU Ralph Johnson (DDG 114).
Ashore Commander Babbitt served on the staff of the Surface Warfare Development group as the Submarine Command Course Officer as well as torpedo defense tactics officer. In 2012 Commander Babbitt graduated from the United States Naval War College with a master’s degree in National Security and Strategic Studies.
Commander Babbitt reported as the Executive Officer in USS Fitzgerald (DDG 62) Forward Deployed Naval Forces from Yokosuka, Japan in March 2017 as part of the Surface Navy’s command fleet-up program.
