Command Master Chief (February 2013 - October 2014)
Command Master Chief Petty Officer Davis, a native of Columbus, Ohio entered into the Naval Service on April, 1995. From July 1996 until August 2001, Command Master Chief Davis served with the VQ-3 IRONMAN. He then was assigned to CSFWP DET AIMD Lemoore from September 2001 until October 2004 where he promoted to Chief Petty Officer after two Gulf deployments onboard USS CARL VINSON.
Following his promotion to Chief Petty Officer, he reported to USS CARL VINSON (CVN 70) stationed in Bremerton, Wa in November 2004 until September 2007. He led his division in the safe around the world homeport change to Norfolk, Va., and served as the IMRL LCPO during the carriers RCOH. Master Chief Davis was selected as the 2007 Swamp Fox awardee.
He then reported to VFA-81 “SUNLINERS”, stationed in NAS Oceana, where he promoted to Senior Chief Petty Officer. While there he deployed onboard the USS NIMITZ and USS CARL VINSON. He served as Quality Assurance Supervisor and Maintenance Control LCPO where transitioned the squadron from the legacy F/A-18C to the newest Super Hornet F/A-18E.
In October 2010 Master Chief Davis reported for to the Center for Naval Education and Training Center, Jacksonville, FL., where as a Master Training Specialist and served as SEAM instructor and developed the P-8A maintenance training. Upon his advancement to Master Chief Petty Officer he was selected to the Command Master Chief program and received orders to USS FITZGERALD, stationed Yokosuka, Japan.
Command Master Chief Petty Officer Davis holds a degree from Excelsior University and is authorized to wear the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four gold stars) the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three gold stars), Good Conduct Medal (four bronze stars), as well as other unit and campaign awards.
