Executive Officer (January 2014 - April 2014)

Lieutenant Commander Clay Johnson is a native of Grayson, Georgia. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Systems Engineering.

After his commissioning, Lieutenant Commander Johnson was designated as a Surface Warfare Officer and assigned to USS Gettysburg (CG 64) as Ordnance Officer. He then went on to serve as the commissioning Combat Information Center Officer in USS San Antonio (LPD 17). As a department head he served as the Weapons Officer in USS Halsey (DDG 97) and Weapons Officer and Combat Systems Officer in USS Russell (DDG 59).

Ashore, Lieutenant Commander Johnson served as an Engineering Officer Recruiter at Navy Recruiting District Portland.

Lieutenant Commander Johnson’s personal decorations include the Navy Commendation Medal (2 awards) and Navy Achievement Medal (2 awards).
