CDR Simon McKeon 
Executive Officer

A native of New Britain, CT, Simon McKeon graduated from New Britain High school and received his commission from U.S. Naval Academy in 1998.

Division Officer tours include: Anti-Submarine Officer onboard USS ANZIO (CG 68). Navigator onboard USS DOYLE (FFG 39) and Assistant Surface Ops as part of Commander US Naval Forces Europe (COMUSNAVEUR) staff in London, UK.

Department Head tours: Weapons, Combat Systems and Senior Watch Officer onboard USS DECATUR (DDG-73). During this tour he successfully coordinated the first exo-atmospheric engagement of a Ballistic Target by an Arleigh Burke Destroyer as well as the engagement of a malfunctioning US Satellite filled with hydrazine (Operation BURNT FROST).

Post Department Head: Selected to represent the US Navy at the British Joint Services Academy in Shrivenham, England earning him a Masters and JPME. Reported to COMSIXTHFLT/ COMUSNAVEUR/ COMUSNAVAF/CTF-6 as Fleet Management Officer where he oversaw all ship operations and exercises in the EUCOM and AFRICOM AORs. During this tour he was selected for Commander Command (XO/CO fleet-up).

Reported to OPNAV Warfare Integration, N9I, where he served as a Manpower and Training Action Officer where he assisted N9I in building POM-15 and POM-16 from Aug 2012 - Sep 2014.

Personal awards include: Navy Service Medal (2 awards), Joint Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (3 awards), and Navy Achievement Medal (4 awards).
