USS John Paul Jones Gets Into the Christmas Spirit
Sailors aboard USS John Paul Jones not only selflessly serve their country afloat but also ashore. Along with several different non-profit organizations, USS John Paul Jones Sailors volunteered with Toys for Tots for the past two months.

Toys for Tots is a non-profit organization started by the Marine Corps Reserve. Toys for Tots dedicates three months out of the year solely to collecting toys in order to give less fortunate children the a hopeful and joyous Christmas experience. The toys are given with the hope of teaching the children to embrace the ideas of accountability, productivity and patriotism.

”The importance of community service is a chance to make a difference. To show others that people do care either about our community, our youth, and that there are people in the world who do want to make a difference.” said SH3 Alberto Martinez.

The sailors aboard USS John Paul Jones are dedicated and devoted to spending several hours after work and during the weekend in order to help Toys for Tots fulfill its ultimate mission.
