San Diego, CA - USS John Paul Jones (DDG 53) received the second half of its Multi-Mission Signal Processor (MMSP) on Jan. 7 at BAE Systems Ship Repair in San Diego.

The MMSP allows Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) and Air and Missile Defense capability to function and perform more efficiently. The combination of the SPY-1 radar and MMSP into one signal processing combat system platform will enhance Integrated Air Missile Defense warfare capabilities for the Navy.

The MMSP is scheduled for initial testing Spring 2013.
