The American Society of Marine Artists Visits USS John Paul Jones

SAN DIEGO – Members of the American Society of Marine Artists visited the guided missile destroyer USS John Paul Jones (DDG 53) at Naval Base San Diego, Oct. 5.

During the visit, crew members discussed the fleet’s modernization efforts in engineering and combat system capabilities as the guests were led on a tour of the ship that included the combat information center.

Additionally, the guests were allowed to view static displays of the ship’s weapons, damage control equipment and visit, board, search and seizure (VBSS) capabilities.

John Paul Jones is currently pierside at its homeport of Naval Base San Diego and is scheduled to take part in several upcoming test and evaluation missions.
