SAN DIEGO - The technical director and major program manager for AEGIS ballistic missile defense toured USS John Paul Jones (DDG 53) Sept. 20.

Capt. Michael Anderson visited the ship in port here to familiarize himself with the ship and her crew. In order to understand the full scope of the modernization efforts including the upgraded engineering and combat system capabilities, Anderson viewed various computer rooms and engineering spaces throughout the ship. A walkthrough of the Combat Information Center illustrated the new technologies installed in the operation of what many would arguably call the Navy’s most advanced warship.

John Paul Jones is stationed in San Diego and is scheduled to undergo several test and evaluation missions over the coming months.
