Commander Ehrhardt, originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, enlisted in the Navy in 1984, and was commissioned through the Enlisted Commissioning Program in 1993.
Commander Ehrhardt’s sea duty includes a tour as a plankowner in USS FITZGERALD (DDG 62), completing a deployment to the Arabian Gulf. He went on to serve as Combat Systems Officer in USS BOONE (FFG 28) conducting a Counter Drug deployment, and Weapons Officer in Destroyer Squadron ONE, completing two deployments to the Western Pacific. Commander Ehrhardt also served as Executive Officer in USS JARRETT (FFG 33), completing two deployments to the Western Pacific for CARAT.
Commander Ehrhardt’s shore assignments include a tour at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA; a tour on the staff of Commander, Naval Surface Forces in San Diego, CA; and the Naval War College in Newport, RI.
Commander Ehrhardt has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from San Jose State University, a Master’s in Software Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School, and a Master’s in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College. He has been awarded the Navy-Marine Corps Commendation Medal with three gold stars, the Navy-Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and the Navy Good Conduct Medal with one star.
