The Guest Speaker was retired Command Master Chief David Dearie, former Navy Region Southwest Command Master Chief.  He spoke about the history of the Chief’s mess and the responsibility that falls on our newest Chief Petty Officers. In addition, he reminded the new CPOs of the significance of the time-honored phrase, “Ask the Chief.”
The Command Master Chiefs from the JOHN P. MURTHA and RAFAEL PERALTA, CMDCM Crisafulli and CMDCM Lira, spoke to the gathered individuals about the pride that they took in taking part in CPO 365 Phase 2 (the indoctrination process for CPO Selects) this year, and the challenges that each Selectee faced throughout the previous six weeks.
Also present for the event were Sergeant Rafael Peralta’s mother, Rosa, and his sister, Icela. Rosa Peralta is RAFAEL PERALTA’s sponsor, and will officially christen her next month, breaking a champagne bottle on her stem in a public ceremony on October 31st in Bath, Maine.
Congratulations to the FY16 Chief Petty Officers of Class 122: HTC Derek Kennington, PSC Dwayne Smith, BMC Matthew Leteff, LSC April Jones, and ITC Michael Morgan.
