CDR Timothy D. Arbulu
Executive Officer

A native of Streamwood, Illinois, Commander Arbulu enlisted into the Submarine Service as a Sonar Technician in 1990. Graduating from Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electronics Management in 1999, he was commissioned at Officer Candidate School in 2000.

Afloat, he has served in various combat systems and engineering billets in USS CAVALLA (SSN 684), USS BREMERTON (SSN 698), USS RENTZ (FFG 46), USS MONSOON (PC 4), USS CARNEY (DDG 64) and on the staff of Commander Destroyer Squadron TWO FOUR.

Ashore, he has served as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor at Naval Hospital Great Lakes, as Deputy Director of Engineering Training at Afloat Training Group San Diego, and as a Defense Trade Analyst for the U.S. Department of State.

He earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (Financial Management) at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA. His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards), the Coast Guard Unit Commendation Medal, the Battle Efficiency Ribbon (two awards) and various campaign and personal awards.

Commander Arbulu currently serves as executive officer aboard USS SPRUANCE (DDG 111).
