Commander Leopoldo S. Albea is a native of Oxnard, California and is a 1993 graduate from the U.S. Naval Academy.

Commander Albea served as Electrical Officer, Auxiliaries Officer and Navigator onboard USS MAHLON S. TISDALE (FFG 27), Fire Control Officer onboard USS BENFOLD (DDG 65), Operations and Combat Systems Officer onboard USS DECATUR (DDG 73) and Executive Officer onboard USS HOWARD (DDG 83) and Executive Officer of USS WAYNE E. MEYER (DDG 108) now, Commanding Officer of the MEYER.

Ashore, Commander Albea served as Assistant Enlisted Programs Officer for NRD San Diego and as Executive Assistant to Commander Naval Surface Forces, U.S. Pacific Fleet.
