Command Master Chief
Master Chief White is a native of Monroe, N.C., and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in January 1996 attending basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes. After his completion of boot camp he attended FC “A” school at Naval Training Center, Great Lakes then transferred to Aegis Training and Readiness Center Dahlgren, Va., as a Fire Controlman Seaman for his Aegis Computer “C” school. He then selected orders to USS PAUL HAMILTON (DDG 60) in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and reported September 1997. In 2001 he reported to the Aegis Training and Readiness Center in Dahlgren, Va., as a Second Class Petty Officer for instructor duty. Soon after arriving back to Dahlgren, Master Chief White was advanced to Fire Controlman First Class Petty Officer. He taught multiple blocks of instruction and eventually became the computer department Leading Petty Officer. While in Dahlgren he obtained his Master Training Specialist (MTS) Certification and an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration from Germanna Community College in Locust Grove, Va. Master Chief White was assigned next to the PRECOMUNIT KIDD (DDG 100) in Pascagoula, Miss. While assigned to PCU KIDD, he attended Command Career Counselor School in July 2005, and was selected for Chief Petty Officer. He served in Pascagoula and San Diego at various times throughout the pre-commissioning process. He served on USS KIDD through her maiden deployment and transferred to USS HOPPER (DDG 70) in October 2009 as the Combat Systems Maintenance Manager where he was promoted to Senior Chief. In September 2012 he transferred to Surface Warfare Officer School (SWOS) for instructor duty. While at SWOS, he was advanced to Master Chief and later selected for the Command Master Chief program. He is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 183 Khaki).
Master Chief White’s personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various other unit and campaign awards.
