SAN DIEGO – The month of April was Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) and the Sailors aboard the guided missile destroyer USS Sampson (DDG 102) marked the observance in a variety of ways.
Sailors attended training to learn more about the methods that they can employ in their daily lives to help positively deter, recognize and repond to situations where the potential for sexual assault could exist.
Sailors discussed the various ways they can support and advocate for victims of sexual assault to include understanding the reporting criteria for both restricted and unrestricted reports.
"Live Our Values: Step Up to Stop Sexual Assault” was the theme to this year’s SAAM.
